When it comes to skin care, going natural is becoming increasingly popular these days, so why not be as natural as you can be and make your very own face cream?
- For those with dry or mature skin, choose either peanut oil, sesame oil or avocado oil.
- For those with oily skin, choose either grape seed oil or jojoba oil.
- For combination skin or sensitive skin, choose wheat germ oil.
Here’s what you’ll need to make a face cream that is suitable for almost all types of skin:
- A double boiler
- 1 Cup of base oil (based on the oils mentioned above)
- ¼ cup of natural coconut toil
- ½ ounce of shredded beeswax
- 2 medium sized mixing bowls
- 2/3 cup of distilled water
- ½ cup of natural aloe vera gel
- 10 000iu of vitamin E (you can buy this either at a nutrition store or break open capsules)
- 150 000iu of vitamin A
- Essential oils of your choice (not recommended for those with sensitive skin)
- A hand mixer
- Glasses, jars, or any suitable containers to hold your face cream
2) Take your base oil and combine it with coconut oil and beeswax to the top of the double boiler. Boil the products at low heat until the mixture is melted fully (this may take 10-20 minutes).
3) Once the mixture is melted, pour it into a mixing bowl and put it aside. You want to let the ingredients cool down to room temperature again.
4) In the other mixing bowl, combine the water, natural aloe vera gel, vitamin A, vitamin E, and essential oils into a bowl. Take your hand mixer and mix the products together, using the highest speed on the hand mixer to do so.
5) As you continue to blend the products together, slowly add the contents from the other bowl. Continue to blend it until the mixture is thick.
6) Once fully blended, pour the face cream into the jars or containers for storage and place them in a cool place.
TIP: If you want to extend the life of your face cream, place the jars into the fridge!Giving these natural face creams to friends is a great (and inexpensive) gift that any woman will surely appreciate! You can even make this craft with your children and they can give them away as presents for birthdays and during the holiday season.
